Youth.Connections.Academics (YCA)
Our Teen REACH middle school after-school program, Y.C.A., operates year-round and is available to 6th-8th grade students. During the school year, our programs are offered at our 4 partner middle schools (Heritage, George Washington, Freedom, and Lincoln) and are available to students enrolled at these schools.
Y.C.A. aims to support youths’ academic success, social and emotional growth, and engagement in learning. The program includes a daily homework hour, where youth can receive homework help from YC staff, interns and high school mentors. Program also includes daily enrichment activities, where youth can explore their interests, learn new skills, and stay engaged in learning outside of school hours!
Fieldtrips and service opportunities are also a regular part of Y.C.A. programming and often take place on school breaks and days off!
Building Unique Individual Leaders Today (B.U.I.L.T.)
Our middle school summer BUILT program is available to incoming 6th graders through incoming 8th graders in the community, regardless of where they attend school. BUILT provide similar enrichment activities as our YCA afterschool program, with a heavier focus on outdoor recreation and service-learning. Daily enrichment includes STEM programming, art, social-emotional learning, and recreation. BUILT aims to keep youth engaged in learning throughout the summer months while also creating connections and enjoying summer break!
