Youth Crossroads in Bloom, our annual fundraiser and awards gala, takes place on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Crystal Sky Banquets 7941 47th St in McCook. Our Gala brings together our community’s extraordinary business, civic, and community leaders to celebrate our work, our supporters, and the remarkable youth we serve. When you purchase a ticket or sponsor the Gala, you will be playing a vital role in helping to transform the lives of the youth in our community.

Why Your Support Matters
As you know, these past two years have been extraordinarily challenging for the youth and families in our community. We had some of the highest mortality rates in Illinois during the pandemic, and most families also lost jobs and income. The U.S. Surgeon-General recently declared the mental health of youth a national crisis, and YC staff have literally been overwhelmed by requests for counseling services from middle and high school students who have nowhere else to turn to get help. In the past 18 months, 7 children in our community committed suicide (two in middle school). 40% of the high school students we surveyed show severe symptoms of PTSD.
