Richard is a Community Solutions Program Fellow, which is a U.S. State Department sponsored professional development program for global community leaders working on issues related to the environment, tolerance & conflict resolution, transparency & accountability and women & gender.
Richard arrived in the U.S. in August and has been working alongside YC to develop & run parental support groups, assist our school-based counsellors in individual & group counselling sessions, facilitate our Workforce Development program, provide input to our Social Media & Marketing department & participate in our after-school youth leadership programs.
A resident of Kuala Lumpur, Richard is a youth leader and teacher at Dignity College, under the Dignity for Children’s Foundation, a non-governmental organization that provides holistic care and education for the urban poor and refugees in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He plans to utilize his experiences here to create outreach programs for Malaysia’s Rohingya refugee communities, focusing on getting more children into schools and women into the workforce.
Our organization has been glad to host him and we’re grateful for his fresh perspective & contributions. We send him off with our best & wish him the greatest success in his future endeavors.
